What I like about this DVD is split between the talking point sections and the on field demo. Coach Durkac is thorough in both areas which means you will have to listen to a lot of explanation of skills required and step-by-step theory, but when he gets to the demo part, it will all make sense. - Richard Todd, WebBall

A 3-step approach for the complete infielder

These days Bo Durkac may be an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, but he still knows how to put on a show between the lines. Coach Durkac provides both explanation and demonstration of the skills and techniques necessary to advance to the highest levels as a starting infielder.

The DVD breaks down into several chapters which focus on his 3 key steps: movement to the ball, securing the ball, and delivery on target - it's all about timing, efficiency, and accuracy. It does start with several short chapters of talking points but then transitions into on-field demo.

First-step quickness is crucial to solid fielding and he explains how to time your reaction to the ball-bat contact, plus the importance of getting to the ball directly, giving yourself more time for what follows.

Step 2 is to catch and secure the ball and in his approach he knocks down some long held "wisdom" about charging the ball or circling the ball or moving through the ball.

Step 3 is how to make the transfer, get under the ball, ready yourself for delivery and make the throw. Once again he has a unique approach that is all about giving yourself as much time before actually throwing. Just great advice throughout.

83 minutes. 2008.
